The time frame of the daily diary is just after the end of the first book and most of Dodo’s friends have been gathered up/press ganged.
For those of you who have not read the book (or ‘Most of you’) there follows a brief description of each of the main charcters to help make (some?!) sense of the dairy….
DODO THE RAT
Supposedly the last rat in Hamlyn who was too fat and stupid to follow the Pied Piper. Dodo can only say the word ‘Dodo’ , but the meaning changes.
DIDI THE RAT
Sister to Dodo and also a rat.
Didi escaped the Pied Piper because she is mad and thinks she is a house (and sometimes other buildings…depending on property prices!).Didi can only say ‘Didi’ but the meaning also changes. Apart from the little building issue she is not quite as fat or stupid as Dodo.
DEAD VOLE
..is a dead vole and Dodo’s best friend (Dodo’s choice) He is dead and doesn’t say anything, but he doesn’t say quite a lot.
OGD
Ogd is a pigeon who is convinced he is a god, his actual status is unclear, apart from him defiantly being a dirty pigeon.Ogd can only say ‘Doily’ but the meaning changes as well ( you can imagine some really great conversations!)
FLAPPY
…is a bat, the worlds first bat in fact, which is partly why he cannot fly.
Flappy is convinced he can fly, though this takes the form of him running around and flapping his arms saying ‘Fhut, fhut fhut. Flappy talks normally just to be different.
There are many more characters in the Book (and just outside it as well!) but for them you will just have to wait!
