This one is a bit of a tangent post about what I listen too when am writing Dodo, rather than what Dodo listens too or even what he sounds like!
I find silence quite distracting and it tends to let my mind wander if i am writing so I am usually listening to something, it tends to be the same album over and over again for the period of the session or the chapter that am writing.I think the music helps me to stay locked in Dodo mode a bit and makes it easier to get in the same frame of mind if I have to leave it for what ever reason.If I am plugged in is also quite a good way to get left alone!
My musical tastes go absolutely everywhere from classical to jazz, pop to rock and metal.I usually play something fairly fast as it keeps my brain jumping, which is essential for Dodo…random images of a Dodo jumping up and down on a big red button marked random, he looks kind of trippy (a bit like a fat version of the bird from Snoopy!) and parts of him almost move in time!
My present choice is the Album ‘We are Pilots’ by Shiny Toy Guns.I found them by chance on Youtube, someone had one of their tracks as a background and i had to spend the next ten minutes trawling the comments to find out who they were!
Great rock/indi/ dance sound with elements of punk, 80’s syth/electric and new wave.My favourite tracks are Don’t Cry, Le Disko and Rainy Monday.
