Distant Hole Day
Dodo was very disappointed with himself today as he had done absolutely nothing and had spent the whole day curled up in a ball (a dirty furry lumpen sort of ball with bits hanging off!) trying to climb inside his own bottom and get back the meal he had finished eating yesterday and now wanted a bit more.
No one looked to see if he succeeded.
Today Dodo found Ogd to ask him some fashion advice, initially Ogd was reluctant to speak to Dodo as he had been offended by Dodo calling him a friend, luckily no on else was around so Ogd let it go.
After much thinking Ogd suggested red for Dodo’s new colour, and even offered to peck him until he was red all over! Dodo said he would think about it, but thought it would be a bit to much people might think he was a bit flash. Ogd was a bit disappointed
Today Dodo was feeling creative but uninspired, he had become bored with being just dirty brown (with just the hint of mould and questionable highlights!) but wasn’t sure what to do with the thought so he decided to go round and bug his friends to get the answer. Having spent most of the day having that thought he realized he had run out of time and would have to look for the tomorrow, food and sleep beckoned and they had very loud voices (almost drowning out the other voices in his head!)
Hard Word Day
Dodo had decided to do something important today, but had got stuck on the important bit, Ogd has suggested he try a dictionary.
Dodo had tried a dictionary before but had not been that impressed, it reminded him of an old dead thing he had once eaten, a bit hard on the outside and a bit bland in the middle.Luckily for Dodo it has been a pocket dictionary and the rest of the pocket had been quite interesting!
Today is dedicated to St Niggle who is also the patron of meaningless statistics, personality questionnaires and magazine horoscopes.
Wormy Poo Day
Dodo likes to check his droppings in case anything has ‘escaped’ if it has he puts it back.
Dodo never feels alone, with everything living on him and everything living in him, even if the voices in his head tell him otherwise! His imaginary friends have yet to comment, though Ogd and the others would probably agree with the voices and say he has no friends, so he doesn’t ask them.
no one has asked the worms, but i imagine even they have standards!
Happy Drizzle Day
Last night Dodo dreamt of the perfect day, mud and drizzle followed by lots of sleeping and eating with plenty of snacks in between, (to give him energy to eat and sleep!).With a longing sigh Dodo got up and wandered off into the rain looking for something to eat and thinking about where to sleep next so he could get back to his dream!
Today is dedicated to St Axel who is also the patron of fast food and all greased items.The Fundamentalist church of No recently barred St Axel for excessive lubrication.
Exposed Bottom Day.
August finally turns up and feels a bit exposed as June and July seem to have had a big holiday and left the place a bit of a mess, and a weird smell coming from somewhere…though it’s probably Dodo!
Determined to put on a better show, August has told its day to turn up on time on pain of a chinese burn! While days not working will be sent out to find June and July!
Oblivious to all of this, the Calender Mice just tunneled round the gap and left a small pile of poo just before August.
Oblivious to almost everything he couldn’t eat. Dodo had quite a nice day and even had time to stop and have a chat with a woodlouse (mainly on why his passport said ‘Gramisow!’) before using him as a crunchy dip with some stick insects (they had forgotten their passports!)
Honk with Vigour Day
Today Dodo discovered he was an instrument, though thank fully not in the same way that Didi discovered she was a house (which is a whole other story…!) Dodo was just sitting around and not eating (but thinking about eating!) when Flappy fell on him after jumping off a nearby tombstone to prove to Ogd he could fly.
Having proved his point juts after jumping, Flappy decided to have a fall and landed on Dodo’s back.
Dodo gave an almighty honk as all the air in him escaped (some of it had almost given of hope of ever being released!) .
“Honk! Dodo!” said Dodo in breathless excitement
“Doily!” said Ogd, still unconvinced by Flappy’s ‘flying’ and regretting standing so close to Dodo as his Honk had a funny smell and left his skin itchy!
Hollowed Out Day
Dodo forgot to eat today, weak and delerious the others dropped him face down onto some food just to stop him from moaning.When he recovered Dodo was unable to explain how he forgot to eat, especially as he did very little else.Ogd has started taking bets on Dodo forgeting to breath next, Dodo just started turning blue, though might have been because he hadn’t eaten an airhole yet
Slicking Hair Day
Today is Dodo’s annual hair slicking and grooming day.
Normally Dodo wouldn’t worry what he looked like, though it actually took a lot of effort to stay as filthy matted as him, but it would eventually get too much even for him and he has to spend some time pruning (mmm yummy time!) the larger fungus, gnawing off the heavier twigs that have got stuck to him and most importantly push (bend/fold/hammer!) his fur back until it sort of faces the same way.
The furring is not out of vanity but rather necessity as it helps Dodo to work out which end of him is which and which way he is facing!
