Warm Trickle Day

Today Dodo was relaxing with Dead Vole and Didi.Ogd and Flappy were still asleep after being up all night with the ball, and pushing each other off it.

Dodo was happy and relaxed, so much so he wet himself and was asked to leave.Sometimes you can be just too relaxed with others, and warming others feet with your last drink is rarely taken as a compliment!

Fall Off Day

‘Costumes’ all ready, Dodo and the rest of the gang couldn’t wait any longer and started the ball early.

Dodo fell off the ball first when they it hit Flappy, who no one realised was a hill, followed by Didi who had confused everyone…a rat posing as a rat based on bits of a hedgehog on a house!

Dead Vole was very glad he was dead, as were most of Dodo’s corns/beetles!

In the end the ball was very nice and still quite tender in part, they even saved an eyeball for Dead Vole and promised to dig Flappy up soon!

Still Dead Day

Dead Vole wasn’t that bothered about the ball (though he might have one of the eyes when no one is looking!)  and was even less bothered about dressing up for it (Dodo had offered him his dress as he wasn’t allowed to wear it!)  or  coming as something else. Ogd had suggested coming as doorstop, Flappy had thought up dead wood and Didi joined in to suggest a half built outhouse and even offered to fill some of his cracks with mortar!

In the end Dead Vole couldn’t make his mind up (having lost it some time ago) and decided not to go because he was dead.

Mud Head Day

With all the others running/flapping/waddling/not moving around in preparation for the ball Flappy was a bit lost as what to go as, his first though was too come as a slug, all he would need to do would be too shave off his chest hair and then get Dodo to sneeze over him and lie on the floor and wriggle a bit.But he worried it would be too convincing and that the others would try to eat him (or Ogd throw salt at him!) so he ended up burying himself under a clump of mud and grass and go as a hill!

Hedgehog Suit Day

Didi wasnt too sure about the dressing up  but was looking forward to the ball so she had a go anyway.

She initally thought about going as a small flat (one bedroom with en suite and a feature kitchen dinning room living area!) when she was clearly the whole building but feared the subtly would be lost on them so she decided to come as a rat!

Wanting it to be a surprise she didn’t shave Dodo for his fur but used an old hedgehog skin she had found by the pathway and for a tail she tied two worms together and trapped one end in her back door!

As a final touch she stuck two mushrooms to the side of her hedgehog bonnet to make ratty ears!

Fur and Feathers Day

Trying to ignores Dodo’s outfit and avoid its smell, Ogd decided to come as a sheep!

Looking around the graveyard Ogd managed to find old curly wig left over from their last ball which he wrapped around himself to make a coat. Next he blacked his head and feet with soot and for hooves he stole two hooves from the field next to the graveyard (well, from a sleeping sheep in the field!) and hollowed them out to make boots, he would have had four but he couldn’t get the other two to stick on his wings, and it looked silly!

Despite his impressive outfit, Ogds attempts at ‘Baaa’ing still sounded like Doily , though now said with a stutter!

Corn with legs Day

Dodo was still trying to have a think, eventually he gave up after forgetting most of what the others had said, accept the bit about him not wearing his dress as Ogd had reinforced the message by pecking it into Dodo’s head. Not sure what something else actually looked like he decided to go to the ball as a corn on the cob!

Gathering as many small beetles as he could and not eating them he stuck them all over (Dodo’s fur was unsurprisingly fairly sticky!) to act as the corn, all the wiggling legs were a  bit of a distraction but they eventually stopped. To get the yellow look Dodo waited for the next funeral and went and said hello to one of the mourners, they saw him and threw up over him.It was sort of yellow.

Smiling Ball Day

Today Dodo started getting ready for a big ball they had all decided to have at the end of the month, they had found the ball in the mud and although it rattled a bit it still looked quite tasty (the ball was sort of head shaped, but it was muddy…) Dodo had suggested fancy dress, but was ignored as he was the only one with a dress, and after much shouting and ignoring Dodo (saying dress over and over!)  they decided they would all come as something else.Dodo asked about the dress again and was suggested he go somewhere else.

Banned from wearing his dress he tried to have a think….

Cold Clammy Day

Small hands came down and stroked his clean and shiny fur, washing off the last of the scented water and sweet bubbles. He sighed and felt the warmth of her body as she hugged him close and kissed his nose before settling him down between her legs while she combed and plaited his fur ….

Dodo screamed again and was woken by a clod of mud thrown by Flappy and Ogd (it was a really big lump!) sick of him lying there and moaning.

“Dodo!” said Dodo as he tried to explain his nightmare before falling asleep again, happily covered in his usual filth, fresh mud and the clammy sweat from his horrible dream!

Flashing Head Day

Dodo was woken up by the floor today, specifically him rushing into the floor after sleep waking and climbing onto a tomb stone. He ran out of tomb stone and was woken up as he was reunited with the floor!

Luckily (?!) he wasn’t seriously hurt thanks to his abundance of fat acting as a cushion but the image of his short life flashing before his eyes did give him an idea (of sorts!). Dodo had a long term memory problem, it was really just a short term memory with delusions of grandeur! He wasn’t convinced but everyone else told him so, over and over again just to make sure.

Dodo’s solution was to throw himself off a tomb stone everytime he needed to remember something, all would have to do was watch his life flash by and remember the bit he needed as he watched it!

All the others were a bit dubious, the floor wasn’t that solid and could only take so much fat rat falling on it, but they were willing to give it a go for a laugh.

Unfortunatly the experiment failed, all Dodo could recall was climbing up the tomb stone and then plummeting, Poor Dodo had forgot to factor in his poor short term memory, concussion, more concussion and the increaseing fatigue from having to drag himself up  and them scream and thrash around as he fell.

“Doily!” suggested Ogd as Dodo gave up and just lay there and twitched, from now on they would just not ask him to remember anything!

The others agreed and left Dodo to climb out of his rat shaped hole…eventually.
