Bottom Flap Day.
The 1st of March has a weakness for cheese and eats far too much of it, because of this it has put on quite a bit of weight and doesn’t always fit into its uniform.Today is actually the 1st of March’s bottom when it falls out.It apologies and will try and get itself all tucked in for next year.
Dodo is a bit confused but understands the need for cheese and their part in bottom flaps, he has the same issue with dead tramps.
All You Can Eat Day
It is on this day that Dodo and Didi lost their eldest brother Duck.
Duck was born with a huge appetite, but no bottom. He wasn’t expected to live long, and he didn’t. Duck died when Dodo and Didi were still only hairless little wrigglers, they are not really that sure of his name, all they remember is the day he died and their parents shouting duck!
Stuck To Day.
Dodo traditionally spends the day after Bubble Nose day stuck to almost everything.The sight of a lumbering ball of Dodo covered in even more leaves, feathers, bits of rag, moss and who knows what else (who knows, he is just not telling!)
Incidentally the sight of dodo all stuck up gave rise to the Hamlyn legend of the wandering Beard, that the graveyard was haunted by the beard of the first Mayor of Hamlyn, the almost Honourable Justice Growth.Hamlyn has many such legends for they are a gullible people (just ask the piper!)
Fleshy Bits Day.
Dodo has many fleshy bits and uses the day too……..
unfortunatly (or thankfully!) the rest of the day has been chewed up by the Calender mice who have tunnelled through and made a nest somewhere in next week, only a couple of soggy mangled hours are left with some minutes scattered over the tunnel floor.
The computer died at the weekend, windows update had a little fiddle and left me unable to get on the net accept in safe mode! Usually that wouldn’t have been the end as I have a dual boot with Ubuntu on the other side.Had net access there, but as I have not had the chance to configure it since I went to dual monitor it was not at its best. So I thought I would use the opportunity to wipe everything and start again, windows was starting to drag a bit and was due anyway. On the downside havent been able to update Dodoengine or get the sample ready for sending off to the agent!
To make matters worse my works laptop decided to die as well so I couldnt even work off that.There I was, harmlessly typing away when it popped and smoke started coming out of the side by the power socket (nice!) had a little look down the side and I could even see a little flicker of fire…so I blew that out and quickly tried to save everything and transfer it to my memory card before it died.I saved everything and then it died.RIP Dell Latitude.
I have been leant on of the new Asus Eee pc until IT can sort me out with a grownup laptop.Its quite nice but still not totally sure as the screen is soo small (this from the man who uses a Sony UX50 which has a 3 by 2 inch screen!)
My main pc is about back to normal so normal transmissions should be resuming, and crossed fingers i can get the sample off by this friday!
Bubble Nose Day.
One of Dodo’s favourite games, today commemorates his biggest ever bubble, which thanks to a freak gust of wind, blew back and meant he was briefly enclosed in a globe of his own snot!
Dead Vole was recently disqualified from playing Bubble Nose as he had an unfair advantage as part of his nose had caved in and left just one big hole.Flappy also maintains its not snot, its his brain.
Late Day
Despite all your best efforts you will be late today.
Dodo is almost always late,ocassionsally getting away with it as he he so late he is now early for the next thing.
In what is now an event of annual mass denial, the people of Hamlyn decided this day was to blame for most of their problems and sleep through this day and pretend it didnt happen tomorrow.Everyone born on this day is usually born again tomorrow.
The Day was unable to comment as it was ignored by our interviewer.
All Alone Day
Pick your friends carefully, you should never be in the company of someone you wouldn’t eat.
Dodo likes to have lots of friends, as you never know where you might find yourself and run out of.
Okay, bit if an exaggeration there, but almost right.
The first Dodo book has several other sections supporting (and distracting from!) the main story, one of which is the cast list. Listed within are the main characters who appear in the book and a little bit about them.But that is not all! Oh No!
Also included are many more characters, some were involved in the book in various ways, some were hiding just off the page and others were just included on a random whim (you will get a lot of that in Dodo!) for example…
Marks the Pen;
Marks was one of the pens used to write Dodo in the early days, back when it was little more than a pamphlet and just dreaming of a hard binding!
Marks is worth mentioning as it was the only transvestite pen used.When not Dodo’ing, Marks went by the name of Helen and moonlighted at the Savoy Grill as a fine silver and Armadillo shell fountain pen used by the bookings desk.
